Start spreadin' the news -- a tribute to Frank Sinatra is coming to town.

"A Celebration of Sinatra," featuring singer Bob Hoose and the 16-piece Doug Carn Big Band, will be at 2:30 p.m. Jan. 31 at the Museum of Arts and Sciences, 352 S. Nova Road, Daytona Beach.

The concert is being presented by the Northeast Florida Jazz Association. Admission is $30, $25 for members of the museum or the jazz association. For more information, call the museum at 386-255-0285 or the association's Muriel McCoy at 386-445-1329.

"Most singers and musicians start out emulating their heroes and learn from them," Hoose says on his Web site, speaking about the influence of Sinatra. "Then as you grow, you develop your own style. But your roots always stay with you to some extent."

A South Florida resident, Hoose also cites Bobby Darin, Harry Connick Jr. and even Al Jolson as important influences.
