Nineteen Volusia County students will compete in the final round of SuperStars of Volusia, an area performing arts talent competition. The competition is being sponsored by the Daytona Beach Symphony Society.
The finals, which are open to the public, will be at 7 p.m. Nov. 21 at the Mainland High School Performing Arts Center, 1255 W. International Speedway Blvd., Daytona Beach.

Proceeds from the competition will benefit Volusia County public and private schools and performing arts programs.
Finalists, which include both solo performers and ensembles, are: vocalists Leontyne Carter, Candice Cuchetti, Xavier Durden, Jonathan Foley, Daisy Layman, Amanda Melito, Michael Reyes, Nicole Danielle, Amy Smith, Juwan Williams and Tianna Stevens; instrumentalists Tanya Conley (violin) and the Deltona Brass Quintet; pantomime artist Jeremy Hicks; and dance artists Papillion Dance Ensemble, Brittany Vasile, Jessica Giles, Katie Johnson and Kraze Dance Team.
The first place winner will choose between $2,000 cash or 25 hours of recording studio time. The second place winner will choose between $1,500 cash or 15 hours in a recording studio. The third place winner will choose between $500 cash or 10 hours in a recording studio. If a winner is in dance or dramatic arts, the prize will be a professional photo or video session.
Judges are five Central Florida residents with professional performing experience in the arts and entertainment fields.
