Though I haven't riffed about it yet on this blog, being a child of the '60s and '70s, I supped at the teat that was Famous Monsters of Filmland magazine. I even met the editor, "Uncle" Forry Ackerman in 1975 at a monsters convention in NYC. I stammered to even say hello to the man. But that's another blog . . .

According to AP:

FMoF39_prezio.jpgIn a radio appearance reminiscent of David's Letterman's recent interview with actor-turned-rapper Joaquin Phoenix, Billy Bob Thornton gave a puzzling and difficult interview Wednesday. Thornton mostly gave brief, sometimes monosyllabic, answers. Asked what music he listened to when he was young, Thornton spoke about reading the magazine Famous Monsters of Filmland.

You go, Billy Bob! See, if I had been doing the interview, the moment Billy Bob revealed that tidbit, I could have easily wrangled and soothed his savage, albeit, King-Hell crazy, soul.

Me, sort of breathlessly: "What was your favorite issue, Billy Bob? Mine was issue No. 92, with the big frog on the front and reviews of "Count Yorga, Vampire," and  "Godzilla vs. the Smog Monster!"

Billy Bob: (unintelligable mumbling, something about seeing bats on the set).

Billy, if you're out there reading this blog, drop me a line. We'll talk.
