With only 28 days in the month, Flagler County residents will have to make some choices when looking for things to do in February.
The fun kicks off Feb. 4 with a presentation about butterflies of Flagler County by Carla Traister, education chairwoman for the Flagler Audubon Society, at the group's monthly meeting. It begins at 6:30 p.m. at Florida Hospital Flagler on State Road 100 and is free and open to the public. For more information, call 386-313-6095 or 386-445-8653.
Feb. 5,the Audubon Society will have an early morning bird walk along the coastline beginning at 8 a.m. The group will survey beachfront and inlet habitats to help establish a winter baseline of shorebirds that utilize the coastal regions of the county. Feb. 5 at 7:30 the Flagler Playhouse will present "Always ... Patsy Cline." Performances continue Feb. 6-7 and 12-13. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. except Sunday, which is at 2 p.m. Tickets are $25 per person. For more information, call the box office at 386-586-0773.
The Palm Coast Arts Foundation will have its fourth annual Crystal Ball Feb. 6 at the Hammock Dunes Club beginning at 5:30 p.m. Admission is $125 per person and there will be a cash bar. For more information, contact Karen Eaton at 386-246-3756.
The Friends of the Library of Flagler County will present romantic music from Adam Miller at 2 p.m. Feb. 11 at the Palm Coast facility, 2500 Palm Coast Parkway NW. The public is invited and refreshments will be served.
The 2010 Evenings at Whitney lecture series continues Feb. 11 at 7 p.m. with a presentation by William Hauswirth on "Treating Blindness in Humans and Monkeys." The lecture is free and open to the public and will be at the Whitney Lab's Center for Marine Studies on State Road A1A in Marineland. For more information, call 904-461-4000.

The Friends of Washington Oaks State Park will have the annual Citrus Harvest Festival Feb. 13 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the park. Along with the festival will be the Second Saturday Plant Sale. Gardeners and other green thumbs concerned about the impact of recent cold temperatures on their plants can get information Feb. 15 at the Flagler County Extension Service and Master Gardeners "Short and Sweet" horticulture series.
The program will cover how to get a frost-bitten landscape back in shape and will be followed by refreshments and goodies prepared by master gardener volunteers. The program runs from 10 a.m. to noon and there is no cost to attend. The program will be at the Extension Service office at 150 Sawgrass Road, by the Flagler County Fairgrounds.
A second program on dealing with freeze damage will be from 10 a.m. to noon Feb. 22. For more information, call 386-437-7464.
