The parent network announced a few months ago that it was going to bring back the animated series from "Simpsons" creator, Matt Groening on Comedy Central. But now it appears they have hit a snag.
The show's core cast members, Billy West, Katey Sagal and John DiMaggio, will not be part of it. The reason? Salary demands.
"We love the 'Futurama' voice performers and absolutely wanted to use them, but unfortunately, we could not meet their salary demands," said Fox in a statement. "While replacing these talented actors will be difficult, the show must go on. We are confident that we will find terrific new performers to give voice to Matt and David's brilliantly subversive characters."
With that in mind, I will not produce a Fanboy column unless I am paid $1.6 million by next Thursday. (Alright, I give. I'll write it. But I'd still love the $1.6 million.)
Nicolas Cage is in talks to play the gangster villain opposite Seth Rogen in Sony's "The Green Hornet."
Also slated for the film is Cameron Diaz who will play a reporter and Rogen's superhero love interest.
Rogen co-wrote the script with friend Evan Goldberg. The two also wrote last year's "Superbad."
Bad news for Adam Yauch of the Beastie Boys. The singer recently revealed that he has cancer in one of his salivary glands.
While the Beasties have canceled their upcoming tour dates and postponed the release of their new album, "Hot Sauce Committee Part 1," doctors say the tumor was caught early and should be very treatable.
Forbes magazine this week announced their top 10 earning comedians of the last year. At the top of the list? Jerry Seinfeld with a reported $85 million earned between June 1, 2008 and June 1, 2009.
Also on the list: Chris Rock with $42 million, Jeff Dunham with $30 million, and some hack named Dane Cook with $20 million.
George Lopez, Howie Mandel, Larry the Cable Guy, Jeff Foxworthy, Terry Fator and Russell Peters round out the list.
Jeffrey Donovan, star of the USA Network series "Burn Notice" has been busted for DUI in Miami Beach, according to the Associated Press.
The actor was pulled over after he narrowly missed rear-ending a police car and then refused to take a Breathalyzer test.
"I really think I'm only borderline and not too drunk," Donovan is quoted as saying in arrest report. "The only mistake I made tonight was drinking Benadryl with three glasses of wine."
The BBC has released some new info and images from the new episodes of "Doctor Who."
Matt Smith replaces David Tennant at The Doctor and will be joined by a new companion played by Karen Gillian.
Tennant is rumored to be stepping into the very small shoes of Bilbo Baggins in Guillermo del Toro's, "The Hobbit."
If anyone is heading to Comic Con in San Diego this weekend, will you please pick me up a Michael Emerson bobblehead at the "Lost" booth?
