"The Titan Tower Massacre." REACT: Best of luck to all those who lost their jobs in WWE last week. It wouldn't surprise me to see Val Venis show up in TNA Wrestling. I'm not as certain D-Lo Brown, Bam Neely and Kevin Thorn will catch on there, but we'll see.
Vince McMahon's two limo drivers among WWE's firings. REACT: I wonder if Vince has talked with JBL's limo drivers yet.
Eric Bischoff calls Matt Hardy a "friggin goof" and a "mid-card talent," and says Jeff Hardy is walking a "three strikes and you're out tight rope" and is "irresponsible" because he didn't insure his home and property and a fire happened. REACT: While Jeff Hardy is walking a tight rope, I don't agree with Bischoff's comments as it relates to Matt Hardy, who has done quite well for himself and has successfully made the transition from tag-team wrestler to singles wrestler and current ECW champion.
Kurt Angle rips Manchester United soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo. REACT: Angle loves crowd heat in whatever country he is in.
Jim Ross said John Cena's "FU" finisher will now be called "The Throwback" and his "STFU" submission will now be called the "STF." REACT: It's about time these were changed, especially seeing how Cena is WWE's company man.
Shaquille O'Neal said he listens to the Undertaker's theme song every time he goes to the arena for a game. REACT: I'm more in awe when I hear this song. Of course, that's because the Undertaker is usually walking toward the ring with it playing. I can't imagine listening to it in the car to pump me up before a workout, but if it works for Shaq, good for him.
Danny Bonaduce vs. Jose Canseco in a celebrity boxing match Jan. 24. REACT: I would think Canseco (6-foot-6, 265 pounds) would have the edge on Bonaduce (5-foot-6, 165 pounds), but my MMA co-worker Casey Meinberg said not to count out the ripped Bonaduce.
Sting's knees taking a beating. REACT: With his contract with TNA expiring late this year, expect him to develop more of an Undertaker schedule with one big sendoff match.
Cowboy Bill Watts announces his own WWE Hall of Fame honor. REACT: I wonder if WWE gave him the OK to do this.
Harry DH Smith to join Randy Orton's Legacy group. REACT: I'm not sure I like these guys latching onto Orton. I don't think it's good for any of them.
Lanny Kean Jr. (a.k.a. Hillbilly Cousin Junior and Moondog Cujo), died of a heart attack. REACT: I enjoyed watching the Moondogs in my early days as a fan.
Barry Horowitz' first wrestling name was Bret Hart, and it upset Bret. REACT: I can't blame Bret. Funny how Barry did OK with his new name.
Scott Steiner in rough shape and may have to retire. REACT: I'm amazed Steiner has come back and done as well as he has. He's one of my all-time favorites. Here's hoping his body can recover.
Sgt. Slaughter and Ron Simmons released. REACT: A USA! and a Damn! on both of those.
WWE wanted Jim Ross to induct Stone Cold Steve Austin into the WWE Hall of Fame but Austin chose Ric Flair. REACT: It's Austin's choice, really.
Matt Cappotelli released by WWE. REACT: That's unfortunate. I enjoyed his early work, and he would have been a feel-good story due to his health issues.
Ric Flair says the only top name he never got to wrestle was John Cena. REACT: One more match! Kidding.
Victoria retires with her last match this Friday on Smackdown. REACT: Apparently not an angle. She's been good for the business. Best of luck to her.
