Chef Tony Apramani says he was living his dream, cooking for the rich and famous on the Palm Beach social scene. When the economic downtown pinched him, he was awakened to possibilities that awaited in Ormond Beach.

Creating authentic Mexican dishes is a family affair

Corina Gomez, aka Tia Cori, has owned and operated Tia Cori's Tacos in downtown Daytona Beach since May 2010 with her brother, Ben Parra, and her husband, Ovi Ortiz. These days at Tia Cori's, though, most of the cooking is done by 32-year-old chef Andres Perez Zapatero.

Decades of experience behind 'rustic Italian comfort food'

When you've cooked for presidents, music stars and worked for culinary icons such as Wolfgang Puck, you can pretty much write your own ticket. After more than 30 years in the kitchen, Chef Michael Perri cashed in for an executive chef job by the ocean at The Garlic in New Smyrna Beach.

Chef serves up family's Mexican food heritage

Since coming to the United States just a decade ago, Chef Nora De La Vega and her family have been trying to share their family's food heritage with folks on this side of the border. For the past seven years, De La Vega has called DeLand home at De La Vega Restaurante Y Galeria.
