By now you've probably heard that' '80s star Corey Haim passed away on Wednesday at the age of 38.

The actor who had a long history of drug abuse was most recently seen on A&E's reality series, "The Two Coreys," which followed the lives of both Haim and best friend and longtime co-star, Corey Feldman.

As a child of the' '80s, Haim holds a special place in my pop culture heart. I grew up with films like "The Lost Boys," "Dream A Little Dream" and "License to Drive."

But I'll always remember Haim as the title role in 1986's "Lucas." To many, Lucas was a symbol of growing up, a nerdy, inept kid who had trouble fitting in anywhere.

In some ways, that sums up the life of the former teen idol, never quite able to get over the hump of his early stardom to fit in to modern Hollywood.
