OK, so "Iron Man 2" doesn't even have a script yet, and it's already making news.
It seems as though Terrence Howard, who played Jim "Rhodey" Rhodes, Air Force pilot and best friend to Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark, was not all that excited about his expected salary to appear in the anticipated sequel. So he's out.
Stepping in to replace Howard is Oscar-nominated actor Don Cheadle of "Crash" and "Hotel Rwanda" fame.
Loyal readers of this column are well aware of my "originality-is-completely-dead" theory. Now it seems that Allan Loeb, the screenwriter behind "21" and a completely awful Fox series called "New Amsterdam" is working on a script titled "Money Never Sleeps."
The film is a sequel to "Wall Street," a film that should not have a sequel. The original was a classic. Who cares what Gordon Gekko is doing twenty years later?
Well, good for Michael Douglas, at least, who said he won't even discuss the role until he sees a script. My guess is that when he does, he'll politely say no and hop back in bed with Catherine Zeta-Jones.
At least, that's what I would do.
Josh and Jonas Pate are screenwriters who have written three series for television: "Surface," "Moonlight," and the "Bionic Woman" reboot.
None of these ventureslasted more than a season.Their next attempt, a "Jason and the Argonauts" project for NBC, probably won't fare much better.
While I'm on this rant, let me tell you that finally, someone in Hollywood is making some sense. Strangely enough, it's Mel Gibson.
The 52-year-old actor shot down any hopes of reappearing in a fifth "Lethal Weapon" sequel leaving the project "dead in the water" said series director Richard Donner in an interview with the LA Times.
The typical guy has at one time or another had some form of pin-up calendar up in his home, office, dorm room, etc.
I am not the typical guy.Well, I wasn't until this morning when I ordered my first pin-up calendar. Wait, does it count if the girls are zombies?
That's right folks, head on over to myzombiepinup.com and you can order your very own 12-month calendar featuring the best looking undead models that $19.95 can buy.
I'm a fan of October and December.
Recommendation of the week: "L.A. Ink" is back on TLC for its third season. I don't know what it is about this show, but I have to admit, I'm a huge fan.
The show's star, Kat Von D, is the quintessential L.A.girl. She's a bit ditsy and she uses the word "dude" a ton, but when it comes down to it the girl knows how to do a tattoo.
This season on "L.A. Ink,"Kat's tattoo shop has added more staff, works with more celebrity clients and will deal with Kat's newfound fame outside the tattoo shop.
Yeah, I know some people get weirded out by the ideas of girls and/or tattoos, but Fanboy isn't one of them. But even if you are, the show is worth a watch if not just for the human interaction factor. This gang is certifiable.
Check out "L.A. Ink" Thursdays at 10.
