As his satellite radio contract with Sirius careens towards its December expiration date, the "shock jock" is looking for more and more ways to get his name in the papers.
Earlier this year, his name was somehow connected to the open judge's chair that will be left when Simon Cowell leaves "American Idol." And being that no one at Fox has any idea where that come from, we can only assume that rumor mill was probably located somewhere in Stern's basement.
But now, he may have crossed the line.
During his Monday broadcast, Stern and his lackeys decided it would be a good idea to trash Oscar nominee Gabourey Sidibe from "Precious." "There's the most enormous, fat black chick I've ever seen," railed Stern. "Everyone's pretending she's a part of show business and she's never going to be in another movie. She should have gotten the Best Actress award because she's never going to have another shot. What movie is she gonna be in?"
Really, Howard? You know there was a point in your career where you actually were funny and interesting. But these days what little juice you have left is only based on what you did long ago.
As for Sidibe, the actress is lined up to appear in the new Showtime series, "The C Word," and will star in the movie "Yelling to the Sky," a drama due out later this year.
Nickelodeon announced some of the special guests to appear on this season of , "Yo Gabba Gabba!", their hit children's show.
The series, which has a history of hip guests, will welcome "Weird Al" Yankovic, Sarah Silverman, the Black Kids, Anthony Bourdain, Weezer, Mos Def and Rancid's Tim Armstrong.
That's a better lineup than Jay Leno has been able to muster since his return to "The Tonight Show."
You win, Betty White fans.
The 88-year-old actress is slated to host "Saturday Night Live" for their Mother's Day episode on May 8.
Fans have been rallying for the former "Golden Girls" star to host the show and have even created a Facebook petition page, which has grown to nearly 500,000 fans.
When asked over the weekend by People magazine if rumors were true that the television icon would appear on "SNL," she responded with a very simple, "Yes." She later admitted that she is stunned by her new resurgence.
"I don't know why or how," she said. "But it's been wonderful."
