Images of "rolling sculptures" will be on display at Ormond Memorial Art Museum and Gardens.

The exhibition "Speed 2012" will include paintings, photos and memorabilia from a variety of artists, collectors and motorsports archives, as well as rarely seen items from International Speedway Corp. and NASCAR.

This year, the third annual exhibit will focus on the 50th running of the Rolex 24 at Daytona sportscar race, and the return of car manufacturer Ferrari to the endurance classic. The 24-hour race begins at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Daytona International Speedway.

Meanwhile, "Speed 2012" will be on exhibit Saturday through March 11 at the museum, 78 E. Granada Blvd., Ormond Beach. Museum hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, noon to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The museum is closed on major holidays.

Admission is free, but a $2 donation is suggested. For more information, call 386-676-3347 or go online at ormondartmuseum.org.

"Sportscar racing has produced some of the most stunning vehicles in racing that have been called 'rolling sculpture,' " said exhibition curator Barbara Saunders. "As Ferrari enthusiasts can attest, images of that marque are some of the most vibrant in the colorful world of motorsports. This is our opportunity as a community museum to showcase the beauty in our area's racing heritage."

More than 25 private collectors, artists, sculptors and photographers will be represented in "Speed 2012."

Also, patrons can participate in a live webcast of "Motor Mouths Unplugged & Off Track" from 2 to 3 p.m. Feb. 20. The event will feature News-Journal motorsports writers Godwin Kelly and Ken Willis plus industry guests. The webcast also can be viewed online at news-journalonline.com.
